Hi Everyone,
Our first Holiday Potluck and Silent Auction was a huge success! A conversation with a suggestion of having a Silent Auction and perhaps displaying some of student artwork resulted in a overwhelming response from all of you.
From donated auction items, auction bids and money received, I am proud to announce we collected $1,240 for Homeward Pets and $775 for Seattle Cancer Care Alliance! A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $2,015 WAS RAISED!!!
Members of our Auction Committee (Diane D’Ewart and Leslie Henderson) and I hand delivered the checks to Homeward Pets on Wednesday, December 16th. They were very excited to accept our envelope and gave us a tour of their facility. It was nice to see how our money will be used to help the cats and dogs waiting for adoption. I can say that my heart was full upon leaving.
I mailed our checks to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Donation Department on Thursday morning. They should have received our donations by now.
I would like to give a huge shout out to our Decoration Team – Cheryl Yates, Issy Olivia and Pat Wing for making the Snohomish Senior Center look absolutely beautiful for our gathering. It took them hours to organize, arrange and decorate all the tables so that everything was ready when guests arrived. A special thank you to Clara Jean Hanson for making all the snow flakes that were placed on the tables; Carla Revell and Elaine Campbell for their help with set-up and the many guests who stayed to clean-up and help put away the tables and chairs.
Another huge shout out to our Auction Team – Barbara Couvrette, Diane D’Ewart and Leslie Henderson. You guys took our auction to a higher level. Thank you for the numerous hours you put forth in organizing all the auction items before and after the event, coordinating the bid sheets, and collecting all the money received. You also served as our “welcoming committee” and checked in guests and made things flow from start to finish.
To our many students and their guests for participating in our Potluck and Silent Auction, I hope you enjoyed our event and were able to meet some new friends. Thank you for all the wonderful food you brought to share – there was quite a variety and the dishes were delicious!
