Remlinger Farms

What a beautiful day! We all gathered outside the entrance of the Remlinger Farms Store waiting for everyone to show up and proceeded to their restaurant where we were served our delicious sandwich accompanied by either soup or salad. We celebrated Carla’s birthday by sharing a yummy vanilla/chocolate cake (we actually had some left for her to take home) and made our pit stops before heading to the steam train ride.

After the fun ride, we visited the animals (llamas, chickens, a turkey and a pheasant, donkeys, goats, and bunnies) and some of us got to feed them! Then we were off strolling the park grounds seeing the hay maze and kiddie rides. We finished by visiting the Store where a few purchased overstocked pies, soaps, cheese, curds, and a glazed plate with a beautifully ornamented serving utensil.

All in all, it was a fabulous outing!

Pictures will be posted in the “picture” section of our website.

Thank you to all who attended!

“Man of Tai Chi” starts filming

The directorial debut of American movie star Keanu Reeves, “The Man of Tai Chi”, began shooting in Beijing on Tuesday, the New Express Daily reported.

The new director attended a small celebratory event along with the famed Chinese producer, Han Sanping and other members of the cast to mark the start of the production process for “Man of Tai Chi.”

With nearly 200 million yuan worth of investment from Village Roadshow and the China Film Group, “Man of Tai Chi” marks the first time for Reeves to take the helm of a major movie project.

Shooting will last for nearly 6 months in both Beijing and Hong Kong.

Chen Hu, Reeves’ Kung Fu coach, will play the lead in the movie, and Reeves will play the villain.

Hong Kong singer-actress Karen Mok will play the female lead as a police officer.

Chinese kung fu master Yuen Woo-ping will choreograph the movie.

“Man of Tai Chi” is the first time for Reeves to take the helm as director. It is a modern kung fu flick with a Tai Chi twist.

China Film Group, Village Roadshow Asia, Wanda Media and Universal Pictures will co-produce the movie. Universal Pictures will be in charge of its release in North America.

New Discussion Board

Hello everybody,

We have set up a real discussion board where you can post about the classes. Click on the Discussion Board menu above, and take a look. If you register, I think it is easier to post, but you don’t have to register to use it.

Right now we have three categories: General, Hand Form, and Sword Form. Once you enter a category, you can click “New Thread” go make a new posting. It just displays postings by date. If you have suggestions, leave them in the “General” category.

We’ll try this one out and see if we like it.

Thanks,

Mike

Welcome!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to our new website!  Michael and I have created this for you, our students.  We hope you visit and participate often.

As requested, we will post weekly Tai Chi Class Notes to help refresh and remind you of what we discussed and worked on in class.

We also hope you will also use the website to post your own questions to initiate discussions about tai chi related issues.

Please email us with any suggestions on what you’d like to see on our website and/or how we can improve it.

Currently, my suggestion list includes:

*Adding a calendar that can somehow include/show class schedules (not sure about this last part – will have our Webmaster (Mike) let me know if he can do this).

*Adding an Event Page/List (?)

Anyway, send us your suggestions and feedback!

Thank you!
